CapturePoint MPS is a cloud service that enables multi-function printer devices to provide organizations with powerful secure document-scanning and quickly transform paper into editable, actionable information in the cloud. Using the intuitive touchscreen at any compatible multi-function device, users can securely scan and convert paper to searchable Microsoft Word,Excel or PDF file, in English, French and 4 other languages.

What is the current version of CapturePoint MPS?

The most current version of CapturePoint MPS is version 3.0.

Setup & Configuration

Do I need a scanner to use CapturePoint MPS?

No, you do not need a scanner. You can scan document directly from your multi-function device.

What Xerox ConnectKey devices are compatible with CapturePoint MPS

CapturePoint supports any Xerox models running Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) version 3.0 or higher.

Do I require a PC to run CapturePoint MPS?

CapturePoint MPS is an “App” on multi-function printer device panels and as such does not require a PC. However, a PC is required once to download and install the App onto the device. The installation PC specifications are as follow: • Runtime OS: Windows 7/8 • Minimum disk space: 500 MB drive space. • Processors: Multiple Core • Memory: 2 GB of Memory Ram • Network: PC needs to be on the same network as the MFP.

How can I order CapturePoint MPS?

You may order the CapturePoint application through your related printer vendor representative or you may order directly from our sales team.

Can I use the activation code I purchased on a different Device?

Each activation code is assigned and associated with a specific device. The activation code cannot be moved or re-assigned to an alternate device. If you have a unique requirement or a question regarding your activation codes, please contact the CapturePoint MPS support team at: 1-844-697-6543.

Document Transformation

What language does CapturePoint MPS support?

CapturePoint MPS supports documents both in 6 languages, namely – English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Italian.

Can CapturePoint MPS help to "translate" document from English to French?

No, CapturePoint MPS does not offer translation capabilities for this release.

Can CapturePoint MPS recognize text that contains unusual symbols (pictograms, © and ® symbols etc.)?

Yes, CapturePoint MPS has the latest technology to recognize images.

Can CapturePoint MPS capture hand-written text?

Currently, CapturePoint MPS can only capture printed text.

Can I scan in color?

The option to scan in colour is fully functional for PDF documents. The next release will extend the colour scanning feature for both Word and Excel documents.

Is there a size limitation of the scanned document?

A 10 Mb limit has been installed in the CapturePoint MPS cloud. This limit should conform with most business Email system’s limitations.

How long should I expect before I receive the converted document?

You should expect to receive your converted emailed document within a minute or two after scanning. Of course each user may have a slightly different response time based on the Internet configuration at the respective site.

What is required when uploading documents to Dropbox or other cloud-based repositories?

The user account for accessing Dropbox or other cloud-based repositories must have write and folder creation access.

What is required for Microsoft SharePoint system to work with Capturepoint MPS?

The SharePoint system must be internet facing. A system that cannot be accessed from the Internet will not work.

What is delivery method called Fax on CapturePoint MPS?

CapturePoint MPS allows a scanned document to be delivered to a North American fax number. Each licensed CapturePoint MPS device can send up to 30 faxes every calendar month.

Is my data secure?

Yes, CapturePoint encrypts all data communications between the multi-function device and our cloud platform using SSL technology.

Do you store any data that we uploaded to the CapturePoint MPS service?

No, Once document is “transformed”, the document is deleted from the conversion system to offer total peace of mind.

Where are the Data Centers located?

CapturePoint MPS services utilize Global data centers from Microsoft Azure.

How reliable is the service?

CapturePoint MPS services is residing at Uptime Institute Tier-III certified data center with full system redundancy. We are targeting a 99.9+% system uptime to ensure customer satisfaction.


Is there extra cost for maintenance and support for CapturePoint MPS?

The annual subscription of the CapturePoint MPS service already includes all maintenance and support. Since all the updates and maintenance are performed in the Cloud, you do not need to worry about upgrade and system maintenance.
